Both Joy and Rivo are dedicated Shopify loyalty platforms. They share a similar positioning, but Joy goes further on features. Joy includes paid membership, Instagram story detection, and an account manager at plan tiers where Rivo still requires a custom quote.
1. Order Capacity at the Same Price
At the same top-tier price, Joy includes nearly 3x more orders per month than Rivo. Stores that grow past Rivo's limit need to move to a custom plan and negotiate pricing. With Joy, you stay on a fixed plan with a simple per-order rate for anything above the cap.
2. Paid Membership
Joy lets merchants launch paid membership programs without going enterprise. On Rivo, membership is only available once you upgrade to their Custom plan, which requires a sales call to even get a quote.
3. Social Rewards
Joy detects Instagram story mentions, comments, and follows automatically and turns them into reward events. Rivo covers basic social following but doesn't support Instagram story detection.
4. API Access and Account Manager
Joy's API and dedicated account manager are both available on published plans at a fixed price. With Rivo, you only get access to either once you're on a Custom plan. There's no public pricing for that tier.
