LoyaltyLion is an established loyalty platform for enterprise Shopify brands. Joy serves the same high-volume merchants with published pricing and a broader feature set. Joy includes paid membership, Apple/Google Wallet passes, Instagram social rewards, and native checkout extensions — features LoyaltyLion does not offer out of the box.
1. Pricing Transparency
LoyaltyLion lists a starting price for its Classic plan, but Advanced and Plus plans are custom-priced and require a sales conversation. Joy publishes all plan prices and limits upfront. For teams that need to compare costs quickly, that full transparency matters.
2. Membership and Wallet Passes
Joy includes paid membership programs and Apple/Google Wallet passes natively. LoyaltyLion does not offer either out of the box. Merchants who want these features would need to build them separately or rely on additional tools.
3. Social Rewards
Joy automatically detects Instagram story mentions, comments, and follows and rewards customers for them. LoyaltyLion supports basic social actions but does not include Instagram story detection.

Joy covers 30+ touchpoints including cart drawer, checkout, POS, and product pages. Joy also supports cart drawer redemption natively. LoyaltyLion does not. For brands focused on converting loyalty into in-session purchases, this gap is worth considering.
